digibank is the latest bank in Indian banking infrastructure launched by DBS Bank Limited, the largest bank in Singapore, a mobile-only bank which allows to open an e-wallet and saving account without visiting a branch.
While many people liked it and called it a digital revolution in the banking system but many people have faced a severe problem while using it. The severity is so high that you will loose your account and all of the money in it if you forget your email!
We too liked it but there is something we should keep in our mind before going for an account with digibank.
- You need a bank account to create a bank account
- You need a smartphone
- You will find difficulty in getting solution to your problem regarding your account because the Virtual assistance is not so genius as of now and you will have to waste so much of time to connect to a live executive
- If you will forget your email or mobile number you will loose your account and all the money in it
- The OTP sent for the transaction is alphanumeric. It is secure than others but you will face problem in time critical transaction like IRCTC booking etc.
One of our readers reported this incident happened with him and after reading this, we also got scared of losing balances of our account. Read the story below:
I got to know about digibank by DBS during IPL match. I downloaded the Android app and created my account and upgraded to digibank Saving account. After 2 days I completed biometric verification. Seeing this, my friend also did the same. I applied for Debit card but my friend didn’t because he forgot his password. He tried to reset the password but it asked for debit card details.
How can he give debit card details when he didn’t get it?
When I asked over chat, the representative told there is no solution to this as of now. We contacted via phone several times for several weeks. In the last, one representative requested debit card for him manually from his side. The reason they told that the current Android app does not support reset option without debit card details.
A month later he got his debit card. By that time he had forgotten his email also and there is no option to recover email. When I contacted digibank over chat, they told us to contact over the phone. When we contacted over phone, they told us to contact over chat.
When contacting again over chat, the representative told that he/she can’t give information. I submitted his Debit card details, Customer ID, Account number, Mobile number then also he/she didn’t gave us the email associated with it. All that time he/she told is to get in touch with them via chat from the owner’s account.
How can a person chat from his account when he is not logged in? And if he can log in then why he need to chat with a representative to know email? He can get that from profile setting!
So the result is, he should forget his digibank account and all the money in it as there is no solution to it!!
